Décor:
Let’s go for broke with this Fall theme, shall we? (Oops too
late, I’m already broke). Step one, I cover my apartment with pumpkins. If
there is a flat surface in my living room, it will have a pumpkin on it;
natural or painted it, does not matter, pumpkins are the mascots of Fall. Have
some room left? Step two, candles, lots of Fall scented candles. Then throw
some earth tone throw pillows on the couch with some coordinating fuzzy
blankets, and turn down the lights, your cozy coven is complete.
Drinks and Snacks:
Four words: red wine
hot chocolate. I cannot wait to try out my recipe on Monday. Luckily, calories
don’t count on Halloween, so I’m also going to bake a ton of dirty red velvet
cupcakes (red velvet cupcakes with marbled vanilla icing and Oreo crumbles). Of
course, no October 31st gathering would be complete without an
irrational amount of candy, so I’m going to throw that ish around like
confetti.
Entertainment:
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good horror movie, but they
don’t really guarantee a fun friendly night. I’m much more of a cheesy
Halloween movie lover, and I can’t get through the spookiest season without
watching “Hocus Pocus”. So a double feature of “Hocus Pocus” and
“Halloweentown” it is.
OOTD:
Just because you’re not partying doesn’t mean you can’t look
cute (you know you’re going to want to take a seasonally appropriate insta). My
crazy and exhausting Halloween party was on Friday, so I’m already tired of
putting all my effort into an insane costume and elaborate makeup. I have
decided to pay homage to my love, Ryan Murphy, and dress as a coven member,
Taissa Farmiga to be exact.
This relaxing night guarantees a good time with the friends
that you actually want to talk to (and not those drunk girls you get stuck
talking to at that horrid party in that gross bathroom that we’ve all been
trapped in before), yummy food, and the promise of actually getting up on time
for work the next morning without a disturbing hangover. Enjoy!
